Re Watching a Movie

Post by Rusty »

I pulled out a movie to watch for the second time tonight. I haven't had it too long, but tonight for some reason I was watching the credits. I noticed that this is based on a story by the same name written by Norman Maclean.
For those who might not remember the name Norman Maclean also wrote the the book "A River Runs Through it" which is considered to be THE MOVIE among fly fishermen. It's funny how that little insight brings a new dimension to the movie.

Right Papa Bear.
Sorry I did leave that part out.
Both stories were written by Norman MacLean.

Now I'm intrigued. I saw that movie in the video store in the US last year, but never got 'round to renting it. And they don't have such movies around here very often. :( Maybe they'll have it on special at chinamart or ??? next time I'm up north. :-)

What is so good about the two movies is that if you watch "A River Runs Through it" first and keep in mind that he also wrote "The Ranger, the Cook and the Hole in the Sky" when you watch this one you'll see things that ring true from his youth.
They call the young man "Mac" in the ranger movie. there is also one place where the ranger played by Same Elliott says to Mac, you're hard headed. he replies back no I'm Preberterian.
It's good to see that the screen writters kept things proper.
