Starting to get the hang of it.

There is just something special about casting your own.
Played around with the temp today, while waiting for my temp gage to arrive.
I'm getting a "feel" for the right temp for good rounds.
Going to load these with 25-27gr of Varget. Hope to find a load soon.
It already likes my small game load.

Ditto! If they shoot half as nice as they look, they should be winners! :D

Lyman 311041 mold.

I'll be shooting these in the next few days. Hopefully do a penatration comparison test as well.

BULLETS

Post by HEAD0001 »

Good looking bullets. I do not know what it is, but it is alot more fun when you shoot a deer with a bullet that you made. I would not worry about a penetration test, just shoot your deer and go pick it up. Tom.

I've not doubt they will work. I'm just doing the test for my own amusment. I think they will out penatrate most of the others.

WEIGHT

Post by HEAD0001 »

Did you weigh them. I do. I normally cull about 1/5 of my bullet's because of weight differences. But you can drop them right back into the pot. An electronic scale comes in handy. Tom.

There is something fascinating about a good lookin bullet. If I have to explain it you just don't get it and probably never will. 1886.
