Yes I got tickets about 2 hours ago and yes I'm going thru Dubai again !

So note to self "no rude comments to the ragheads while in the airport" .

Second note to self "don't leave the airport while there" !

I have a General friend in the Pentagon and another military related friend who get me a little extra intel or so they claim each time before I go . And the military related friend tells me ANY American in Dubai is at a great risk for kidnapping . Well that is out and about in the streets of the city that is .

Last time I went to NZ, Mom refused to fly anything but Air NZ, so it cost a few dollars more. And I won't fly any of those other foriegn airlines... too many crashes and near misses. Call me prejudiced, but any country that just graduated from pushin' a water buffalo or ridin' camels to 747s in one generation doesn''t inspire confidence in me.

An American got wacked about 10 miles from where I was at in PI this past February !

I thought that was muslim or rebel something or other . Turned out the guy was married to a filipina and had been seperated from her for a couple years and running around with a younger filipina . The estranged couple owned several buisness's .

Anyway the jlted wifey got upset and some of her family come and wack the guy along with his nubile young squeeze .

I was in Dubai in 95 on an oil processing project. I was getting pretty shaggy so went down town and got a haircut. When I came back and the Indians I was working with asked where I got the haircut and I told them, they really freaked out which, obviously, freaked me out. Guess I could just have easily got my throat cut. Thing is, it was probably the best haircut I ever had, all scissors, no electricity.
