CZ527 17 Hornet

Post by 6pt-sika »

We got a mild surprise today !

The second CZ527 Varmint in 17 Hornet came in today !

This ones for my gunsmith buddy and I'll get stuck working up a load for it .

He put a Leupold VX2 6-18AO on top of it .

Incidently my same gunsmith buddy took a CZ527 Varmint 223 in on trade about a year ago . And he decided to keep it , the gun came with a bunch of 75 grain handloads and we were able to shoot 3 shots at 100 yards in a touch less then .4" !

I worked up a load for this one with the Nosler 60 grain Ballistic Tip . My best group at 100 yards for 3 shots measured .191" after deduction of the bullet diameter !

I had the same CZ527 in .223...sold it to help fund a competition AR build.

Regret it to this day.

Nice rifle and great scope choice as well. I had a 527 in 22 hornet and 223. Both were nice shooting rifles.

Looks good.

I got mine last Friday, mounted a Vortex Viper and spent a few days getting the CZ BROWN CRUD out of the barrel. I had hoped to get her sighted in and a group or 2 by now, maybe tomorrow.

I have a standard weight CZ 527 Hornet converted to a 17 Ackley, it shoots well and sits in a new custom wood stock with a Cooper style forearm and an A5 grip buttstock. Much more stable on the bench.
