Winchester 1894 and a Winchester 1873!

Have been a little bit sick but now I am recovering. Just felt bored that is why I try to share these two pictures with the forum. Yes, I know that I am not KirkD but at least I am doing my best! :mrgreen:

The rifle is a Winchester mod. 1894, halfoctagonal barrel, button mag. caliber 38-55, mfg 1900.
The shape of the rifle is very good and I am sure of that it is not used very much.

Very Nice! I love the 1/2 round Winchesters and the 38-55 is one I don't have. Thanks for sharing

Wow! A few years back a fellow was going to trade me one like that for my 1895 Marlin, and then I never heard from him again. Always regretted missing out on it. Sure is a beauty! :mrgreen:

Wow! The condition of that rifle is amazing! That is a highly desirable and collectable Model 1894!

History on the gun?? Yea, I have it Brad................from the shipping crate in 1900 right to the closet. :D

Thank you very much guys for the nice words about my Winchester mod. 1894. I really appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I do not have the history about the the gun.

As I said in the beginning of this post I have been a little bit sick but not more sick than I could take the car for a drive a few hours and pick up a Winchester mod. 1873. :mrgreen:
I think the shape is okey for the price I paid. In the buttstock I found this cleaning rod.
I should really appreciate your opinions about that. Is it correct? This is the first time I see it except for pictures in the book.

Nice looking 73 you got! I would say the cleaning rod is for the gun, but not positive
the 38-40 & 44-40 came with them
so what calibre is yours

The caliber is 44-40.
I am not sure but I think that the cleaning rods were not furnished with the .32 and .22 caliber models.
