I guess levers aren't cool...

Post by olyinaz »

Stopped in to the local fun shop today as I hadn't been in a while and was feeling symptoms I should keep to myself...(  ) and of course the rack of EBRs was totally swept clean. Not an AR or AK in the place and there's usually dozens. A few Springfield M1As still on the racks though! I guess the mob is too stupid to figure out that a SOCOM 16 is an "assault rifle"?

At any rate, over on the levers rack there was plenty of action to be had, and there sat a Rossi 92 in .45 Colt for $299. BOOyah! Come to Daddy. :D

I guess levers aren't cool?? I dunno, but one of the boys will love the thing and give it a good home. Works for me!

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Heckfire YES I bought it! Well, put money down on it anyhow. I can't pick it up for a few more days due to local regs. :(

Congrats Oly, those Rossi 92's are great little guns. I have a .357, 44 mag and a 480 Ruger. All slick as could be and 100% reliable. I hope to see a range report from yours.

Yep, my local has a 1941 model 94 in 30wcf that is 90% or better, and an 1892 in 44-40 that is very sweet. Neither are bargains but could be talked down. The 94 is very nice.

I carried an M16 from 1983-1987 while a security specialist in USAF. I have had no inclination to touch another AR variant since. My only two levers are a Rossi .357 and a Henry .22LR. I sold my two Marlin .30-30's and .44mag two years ago to partially fund my wife's immigration to the US while at the same time going to fewer calibers to simplify things.

No, it's a Pima County thing. All used guns have to be held for 20 days before they can be resold in order to give time for the Sheriff's Dept. the time to receive and process a stolen gun report. As much as it bugs me, I actually see it as making some sense, especially if a fellow has ever had a gun stolen.

Most shops hold the guns in back until the jail sentence is up. This one puts 'em out and let's you lay them away until the time is up. It works the same both ways and of course works better for the gun shop because they get at least some return on their money while they're waiting. This one had been snapped up and then the feller changed his mind, so I got it on the rebound with a few days left to go. (I can pick it up on the 3rd.)

Clear as mud?
