Very nice condition. Congratulations!

I think I got it for that price because of the D and T for the scope side mount. Neat thing is my dealer charges me $20 for the transfer, including the background check. And to top it off, he is one of the finest Christian gentlemen I have ever met.
Now to order in dies, brass and peas for this shooter ...

WOW !!! 20 bucks for a transwer, cheapest one here is $75 and thats cause He likes Me. Most charge a 100 bucks. I might be tempted to buy sumthin on GB if I weren't going to be gouged on this end.

Oh yes, a really nice snag there, Bill. That should be a nice addition to the stable -- love that model 64 style!

Ouch, Perry! That would certainly be a show-stopper for my GB acquisitions. My FFL fellow just went from $15 to $20 here. But lots of the stuff us levernuts like (such as Bill's 64 made more than 50 years ago) would qualify for the C&R license that us collectors can acquire quite painlessly with a little BATF paperwork and a few weeks wait. Jump on that BATF web site and download the forms and get 'er going today!

Earl, you know, the C&R license makes a lot of sense. I had one back when there was all kinds of swell military surplus pouring in, then let it lapse.
(Actually, I went broke!)
Mebbe I should re-up.

Back in the early 70's Winchester made a run of 64s. They featured all of the roughness of the period. Your rifle is one of those. They sell for considerably less than the pre-64 models.

I had one of those later 64s and it shoot good enough, but I could never develop a fondness for it.

That looks like a pre-64 to me! It has the pinned lower link with the retainer screw. That's just one clue. Nice rifle.

Charles, sorry to disappoint, but the serial number dates it to the year of my birth, 1953.

Very nice! I love the 32 Special in a Winchester M64. Mine is the same model except that I've worn most of the bluing off after 40 years of carrying. Still an excellent shooter. Wow, that one is beutiful!! Congrats

Thanks Geo. I plan to shoot both cast and jacketed in mine. I just e-mailed Hodgdon to see if they had data for LeveRevolution powder in .32 Special with the 165-grain Hornady Flex-Tip. I'll share when I hear. Rather than buy a mold right off, I'll see if Marshall Stanton at Beartooth offers a .321-.322 gas-checked boolit that would be a good choice.
