This may come as a surprise to those not living in Las Vegas (I don't), but there are more Catholic churches there than casinos!

Not surprisingly, some worshippers at Sunday Mass will give casino tokens and chips rather than cash when the basket is passed.

Since they get so many of these from all the different casinos, the churches have devised a method to convert the offerings into cash.

The churches send all of their collected chips to a nearby Franciscan monastery for sorting and then the chips are taken to the casinos where they came from and cashed in.

Of course, this is done by a special order of priests at the monastery, known as the...
