Mostly Navy in my family til the current generation. Dad and I were the renegades (Army & Air Force). They served on everything from subs to battleships. One uncle told me he was on a battleship and they had the deck awash in a typhoon (WWII). His stories are likely the reason I wanted to stay on dry land.

So, here's a big Happy Birthday to all the current and former sailors. Without them we would not be the nation we are today.

That's just what the old salts said to the new guys so they'd stand close to the rails and get soaking wet. The old salts would stand back and laugh at them.

Thanks to all who served.
