Well, I AM still here at this time, but my cancer is now definitely terminal so for how long only God knows. I spent four days in the hospital after calling 911 due to racing heartbeat and pneumonia that I had no idea was there. I am what is known as the palliative stage, just being maintained until I go. Still feel pretty good, considering, and eat whatever I want and have no problems there. So far, not using or needing supplemental O2, except at night out of "habit", I suppose. I do use a humidifier several hours a day to keep me from drying out and take several meds per day to prevent the recurrence of the pneu., control HB Hey, at least my heart rate is way down around 70BPM and BP excellent, also. Not much coughing as before and that is good. Very warm today and I sat out back in my shorts and read a magazine. Most of my time is spent in my comfy old leather recliner in front of the tube and reading, something I'm headed back to right now. Will be checking in from time to time. Y'all take care and keep on levergunnin'. :)

Mike,

I'm sorry to hear that. I guess all I can say is take care and enjoy what you can.

You'll be in my thoughts.

Mike,

You're on my prayer list too. I'm very sorry that you have been stricken with this disease. Stay home as long as you can, or as long as you have the care that's needed.

May you have all bright days.

Mike.. I’ve enjoyed your posts for many moons now...Posts on the hunting adventures up at your ranch... and the always interesting things to do with the 86s... As a former bottle digger myself I really liked reading your posts about bottle hunting and your creative methods of finding them...You are playing the hand you’ve been dealt as I would hope I could.... You have friends here that will be around you.... You’ll be missed... Rock on Brother!!

And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.  Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.” Genesis 1:27,28

He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited. Isaiah 45:18

The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it. Psalms 37:29

...and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24:15

For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love YOU showed for his name. Hebrews 6:10

With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them.  And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Revelation 21:3,4

Mike, I'm extremely sorry to hear your condition is deteriorating. I had hoped to meet you at a Northern California gun show some day, but alas, it is not to be. I too have enjoyed your 4,200+ posts here on Leverguns. You truly deserve the ***Rockstar*** status of your avatar. I can scarcely look at an original Winchester '86 anymore without thinking of you.

Keep up the fight for as long as you feel able, and do not fear when the time comes. The hand of the Lord will most certainly guide your spirit, and make smooth the path before you.

I pray you will have comfort and peace in the time you have left.

It has been over a month since MikeD last posted on this forum so far as I can tell. Does anyone have any more recent news as to how he is doing? If he is in a hospital somewhere, he probably doesn't have access to a computer, but if anyone know a postal address for him, we could send him cards. That might cheer him up a bit.
