Calif. Fish & Game Pres. Ousted For Hunting Lion

Post by Shasta »

Only in California :x :x :x

Don't think the whole state is liberal. Up here in the north where lions can be a problem, this stuff does not sit well... but we simply cannot out-vote the libs packed like rats in southern cities. :(

Aw come'n, my brother... some of the most conservative folks I've know live in Southern CA. And you're tellin' me the politics in either the north or south portions of the state would change somehow if it were divided between north and south? Face it... SF and LA outvote the entire rest of the state. The rest of us should be aware that any attempt to separate CA into two separate states along a NorCal or SoCal distinction would only create 2 more Liberal Senators in Wash, DC, as SF & Sac would continue out-vote the rest of the northern half of the state just as LA out-votes the southern half.

Griff is right, though coastal and inland might work. But, won't happen.

I strayed of the topic. Shasta, please accept my apologies. It's shameful that I let old loyaties and maybe some jealousies get the better of my judgement. But... it's also shameful how this body of "petty" bureaucrats let external politics interfere with the running of their agency. Or, maybe they just siezed the moment to let their petty jealousies get the better of them. As a member of the "hunting" public, it seems ludricrious that one could be driven from their post because one went into another State to do what was illegal in one's own. I suppose the same set of rules should be imposed for any that might stray over to Nevada to do a little of the "deer" hunting that is illegal in CA?

I well remember back when I was a Deputy in SoCal when we had an attack on a child by a big cat in a fairly new State park in our County. There was much talk about "hunting" the cat. The Staties stepped in and said that they would take care of the problem. While tracks were spotted several times... it was several months before the cat could be darted and relocated. They are a problem in certain areas that those in responsible positions in CA have hid their heads from for too many years. This is just more proof of their perfidy!

Old, old, old news. This was a forgone conclusion once it hit the press. Imagine, don't violate any laws, loose your job. Break all sorts (when he was the mayor of oakland) get elected, again, as governor.

Shameful!

Ventura County here in Southern California is a conservative area. We reliably elect Republicans. Unfortunately we are surrounded by LA and Santa Barbara.

Just goes to show how the Fish & Game Commission is political rather than scientific. They are there to please the activists, not take care of California's wildlife or hunters.

I think if you apply a little statistics and experience, there is no shortage of airheads in CA. Doesn't make them all that way, only the ruling majority.

It's sad that weak kneed Demoncats run this once Golden State. They will cowtow to ANY PC request or suggestion. What CA really needs is open season on mtn lions. There are several on our ranches and they are subject to SSS. :(
