Okay, you religious types! Update, She's gonna be fine!!

I've never done this before.

My youngest cousin Dana, one of my favorite people on the planet is having brain surgery tomorrow. She has a large tumor and they plan to remove "most" of it but can't take it all due to its location, from what I understand.

I have no religious beliefs but I figure it can't hurt to ask for a little help on her behalf as she does. I figure the more positive energy out there the better!

Dunno what qualifies someone as an official 'religious type', but prayers up regardless.

I do think prayers work. Maybe the 'scientific' explanation has yet to come, or is some sort of inter-organism-consciousness phenomenon already being researched, but whatever the case, I believe in it.

I guess that makes me a 'religious type'. . .

Jason, I have prayed for the girl's surgery and recovery. My God is still in the healing business, but we don't know His will in this. The Bible says in James 5:16 " the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." I know there are many saved born again Christian men on this forum and they will be praying for the girl and for you too.

Oh !! but You do have some Religious beliefs or You wouldn't be here asking This. Prayers said for a Positive outcome and complete removal and Recovery. I was gonna say what jerryb said but He beat Me to it. It wouldn't even hurt to start at James 5:13 to 5:16.

From what I've been told Dana will be fine. Surgery went perfectly! The tumor is not malignant but they had to leave a bit behind due to it's location. They may have to do a little chemo but it is unlikely.

I hesitated making this post. I was afraid that it would turn into an attack on my stand on religion opposed to my cousin that was in need who has a faith in a Supreme Being.
My thoughts were that I can add to the people pulling for her that never even met her would make a real psychological and spiritual impact!

Sure glad that didn't happen.

I love this kid, she's smart and funny and a bit eccentric. Probably why we get along so well.

Thanks for your prayers on her behalf.

As for me, I don't know what I believe in. Is there something out there? Maybe. I'll find out when I get there.

Don't worry about those who want to 'categorize' you - believe what you conclude, and let it guide your life and give you hope and inspiration. None of the 'know-it-alls' I've ever met who jump on other people's religious beliefs as 'wrong', have ever managed to convince me they are God, or even a Prophet, so I do my own reading, thinking, and praying. If someone doesn't like that, we can meet in the afterlife and see who was 'right' - the loser buys the other one a beer.

holy smokies ..... prayer works again !! and I got a jump start of sorts, I am 17 time zones ahead of y'all.

JB, sounds like instead of waiting to see what happens on down the road, you might want to get a jump start on finding out what it's all about, do some prelim recon ...... sorta like working up a new 265-gr load for .375 Winchester or something like that, doing some early research usually helps out in the long run .....
