POLITICS - Which Presidential Candidate thinks like you?

Post by rangerider7 »

I don't know much about this survey, but it makes you think anyway. I was in line with Hunter by a little over 88% and I didn't even know who he was.

91.18% match with hunter.

I do think a 35% match to Clinton is a little high. :?

77% for Thompson
and surprisingly:
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) - 69.81%
Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo (R) - 69.81%
California Representative Duncan Hunter (R) - 67.92%

None of which makes me want to vote for them. Although, I disagree with Pres. Bush on a number of issues, I still support him as the better of the men running at the time. Nothing's happened to make me change my mind.

93.1% for both Tancredo and Thompson which pretty much agrees with my personal assessment. 24.14% with Clinton. THAT surprised me. Can't imagine about what it is that we actually agree.

Junior, would you take the test as a control? I'm not being funny, I'd like to see exactly how you score.

Ouch ... I matched with Romney at 87%. I need to go re-evaluate my priorities. I even matched Clinton at 40% ... what's up with that!

Romney's recent conversion to conservatism makes me leery. Plus his "hunted all my life" comment that turned out to not be true at all.

Frankly, I'm disgusted just looking at the GOP lineup overall. Although Ron Paul seems a bit honest and thus out of place in the list. It reminds me of the GOP putting Dole up against Clinton ... what a foregone conclusion that was.

Take a look at Thompson and Huckabee. IMHO they are the best two candidates in the Repulican party.

Yes, Junior, PLEASE run this as a "control".

I got Tancredo/Thompson at 76% & Cox/Paul at 72%

But if I change my "Mediums" to "High" (I didn't pay attention to that bit),

I get Paul (77.12% match) / Tancredo.

This bit is what I find MOST interesting:

"Composite Candidate"

Uses the most common answer and importance for each question and compiles it as one user, this user is then compared against each candidate to determine who best represents the grand sum of the people who took this poll.

Composite Candidate
Texas Representative Ron Paul (R) - 84.78%
Former Tennessee Senator Thompson (R) - 78.26%
Arizona Senator John McCain (R) - 73.91%
Businessman John Cox (R) - 71.74%
Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo (R) - 71.74%
Former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel (D) - 69.57%
Kansas Senator Sam Brownback (R) - 67.39%
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (D) - 67.39%
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) - 63.04%
Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson (R) - 63.04%
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) - 60.87%
Delaware Senator Joseph Biden (D) - 58.70%
Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich (D) - 58.70%
Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D) - 58.70%
California Representative Duncan Hunter (R) - 56.52%
Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards (D) - 50.00%
New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) - 47.83%

Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd (D) - 47.83%

...well, that test says I share 86.93% of Tancredo's beliefs. Thompson is in fourth place, with 73.37%.

If you change the importance to HIGH you will get a different result.

I got Fred Thompson as a match the second time around followed closely by Tancredo & Huckabee.

I don't think it will matter though as we will we be given the rep and dem candidates in Nov.

I'm not too sure that thing is working right. I've taken the survey four different times today and gotten a different candidate each time. Once I even got Hillery as my choice (not going to happen in this lifetime or the next) and just for fun I went back through and reversed every single response and then got Ron Paul. That may be good information right there.

It must be broken....it came up with 70.1% for the Clinton thingy, and I would not touch that with a ten foot pole!

The only two I favored strongly, that I know she is for is yes on National Health Care and no on privatizing Social Security. Every thing else that I voted for was against her propaganda.

T.Thompson and Huckabee? I need to reflect upon this abit more. My foster brother lives in wiscopnsin and he disliked thompson immensly. And I believe our political views are fairly consistent.

None of the listed slugs registered over 79%.

21% leaves a lot of room for the next lying, money-sucking vote-whore to trick a fella out of a vote.

Just for poops and jingles I did it again, only this time moved the Universal Health Care and Not Privatizing Social Security to "medium" . According to that, it shows Tommy Thompson #1 but that Clinton thingy tied with Fred Thompson .1% behind Tommy. Apparently it must weigh the Health and SS higher than some other issues.

Looks like Hunter is "my man" at 81%. Interesting.

I too was shocked to see Kucinich in second place. Nightmare! They can't be serious! I have some friends that are so liberal they float, but even they would not vote for that joke.

Nope. Here's how it works:

We match you with candidates based upon how closely you align with their opinions on the issues, as well as how relevant those issues are to you. Here is a closer look on how we award points to the candidates:

High Importance Issue
Candidate Matches You - 2 Points
Candidate is Neutral - 0 Points

Medium Importance Issue
Candidate Matches You - 1 Point
Candidate is Neutral - .5 Points

Low Importance Issue
Candidate Matches You - .5 Point
Candidate is Neutral - .25 Point

No points are given for issues marked unsure or not answered

So, if an issue is of High Importance to you and your answer matched the candidate's you get more points.

After understanding how the survey worked I took it a second time. Again Joesph Biden, 5% less the second time. I always thought I was an independent republician. When did I become a DEMOCRATE? Or better yet when did they become like me.

Played with this and feel it is abunch of suggestive BS.
Pick your pro second amendment candidates and research and you will get a sense of direction.
There's plenty of time for them to show thier direction and you to sort through the BS .
Thought T Cancredo (spelling ?) had a great view, but coudent adjust for the current Iraq situtaion so ditched him here in Iowa and he was atie for first or secnd- exactly the same score-98.? as first?? :P
This is an analitical process and the result will determine your freedom and the direction of the country.
THE AMENDMENTS in my understanding ARE THEIR TO KEEP PEOPLES WEAKNESNES AND THEIR FOCUS FOR IMMEDIATE WANTS NOT TO SCREW UP THE VALUES AND REQUIREMENTS OF STAYING FREE.
