What did Santy bring?

Post by olyinaz »

Santy brought my wife a new .38 for her to tote while out walking. Girly lookin' thing that she likes (which is what counts). And he put a limited edition birdshead Vaquero in .45 ACP in my stocking!

What did YOU get?? :D

Nothing gun related for Christmas I got a new sleeping bag, running shoes, shirt and a light for camp for when I'm hiking. Recent (Nov-Dec) additions to the fold include: my P Webley & Sons 10 bore, a model 99 made in '58, a model 62 in 22lr made in '58, a model 14 Smith in 22lr, a Gary Reeder 44 mag ( night hunter conversion with 4 inch barrel), and two wild west guns. The WWG's are both similar. One is a 457 mag 1895 Marlin, takedown, trigger, med loop, parkerized, decelerator pad, metal follower, ghost ring sights, high vis front sight, sling swivels and action job with a 19 inch ported barrel. The Master Guide is what this conversion is. The other is a marlin 1894 I sent to them for conversion. 44 mag trapper (16 inch barrel) in a co pilot conversion. It's a take down with all the same features plus a scope rail. It's my current truck gun. Last addition was a benelli m-4 fully tricked out. Replaced factory mag with a full length titanium mag, metal follower, pica tinny tri-rail front grip, combat bolt release pad, bolt release oversize knob, holographic sight on a side saddle-scope rail mount, and a scout side mounted light, and collapsable butt stock. Oh yea, I picked up a Smith 640 with crimson trace grips and a trapper legendary lawman model 94 in 30-30 also. The last one I may let go soon.

I got an Italian cookbook, "The Silver Spoon," a book on making Plains Indian knife sheaths and my pride and joy, "Firearms of the Fur Trade" from the Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron, Nebraska. It's 583 pages and 1,500-plus illustrations!

Along with the normal knick knacks my big present from the wife is a scratched up Colt SAA. I had the Colt and it's currently sitting at the egraver's waiting for it's turn. I have to be patient because it isn't scheduled to be done until the end of March, but I have pictures of what it should look like when done. It'll be finsihed in bright electroless nickel. The majority of it will look like the nickeled one, but with the cylinder engraving of the CCH one shown below sans the gold bands. I've waited longer for firearms to be completed before, but it's never easy.

Probably most of you guys know I have been giving a few of my guns to my daughters boyfriend over the last couple years.
This year for Christmas(his birthday is in same week)gave him a .454 SS Raging Bull.

Well, this year they gave me a glass moose eggnog mug(you know, the one cousin Eddie used on the movie Christmas Vacation  )

I said----I love it!
Then he said pointing down to a box next to me on the floor-----that's yours too.
I opened the box,it was a 16" kel-Tec SU-16 (.223/5.56) he said it matches the two Sub2K's ya just bought!

He said-----If you going to carrying something in your woods you need a 5lb .223 semi, your HBARS are too heavy!
I first said(that's too much I cannot accept it/I don't give you guns expecting one in return????
Then I could see in that instant that kinda might have hurt his/daughters feelings so in that same instant I said( "but" I absolutely love it and will carry it every day and you guys know how I love Kel-Tec stuff) :D

Kids????----------------------boy their something!

No Clark, I'm just fine...

No guns, but each of us adult "kids" got an ounce of gold and the grand kids received a half ounce. All were ether vintage US liberty head eagles, double eagles or Krugerrands.

I'm kind of a hermit so I bought my self this Mod 55 take down in 25-35. Price was somewhat reasonable since it was drilled and tapped no less on the right side of the receiver. Some kind of funky left hand mount?

Didn't get a firearm per se, but I did get some cash to put toward the purchase of one :D I also got the full Lyman case prep set from my wife. I'm bad about case prep and want to be more consistent with it, so this should help. I still have Christmas to do with my parents and the wife's family, so maybe I'll end up with enough funds to make the purchase I've had my eye on (crossing my fingers).

Got myself the Rossi variant of the old "Snake Charmer" to tote around in the "shotgun/ML only" area near the house.

Make a good adjunct to the Rem 1895 "woods C&B".

My pop gave me a a circa 1967 Marlin 336-44 for Christmas about 3 weeks ago !

I gave him a Ruger #1H in 375 H&H MAG .

But I gotta say the best thing I got for Xmas this year was the FACT that all my family and friends in Cagayan de Oro City Philippines survived the flash flood that took place there about a week ago !
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !

3,000 rounds of Blazer .22 cal., assorted other smaller stuff, prime-rib for Christmas dinner, and I traded my Browning SA-22 for a Browning BL-22 (12/26 after-Christmas-sale)--the SA was nice, but after I shot .22-shorts out of my friends BL I was hooked (plus I needed a levergun in .22 cal. to keep within the genre of this community)... :)

Much like our friend Marvin S, I live alone in the woods and thus I did give me one present. Besides PIZZA  Bought me a 1981 production Browning B92 in .44mag. About 98% perfect. It was both a Christmas present and a Birthday present to myself from me....I was a little embarassed to say that I got myself something, but what the heck right? I'd post a picture, but I don't know how to! I'm not the sharpest tool in the computer shed here!
So as I said, I was not going to say that I got myself a present and just said I got Pizza...which I did too! Say....I bought that too! :o Guess I got two presents for me!

My Mom got me a DVD player for my gunroom and 2 seasons of RAWHIDE, my son got me a new welding helmet, and my wife got me a dillon 550 powder measure and a new phone(which I haven't figured out how to use yet). Tom
