Allen Taylor Aug. 1922 - Dec. 2011

Post by JimT »

I received word a little while ago that my Daddy passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning. For those that knew him there's nothing I can add other than that he was my best friend.

For those of you who never knew him, he was a pistolman extraordinaire, an ammunition developer, a firearms inventor, a matchless shot as well as being a real man of God without being religious..

I know Momma was happy when the angels escorted him in this morning ... she had been waiting ...

You and your family have my condolences. It is a sad time no matter how prepared one might be. Your dad is another person I'm looking forward to meeting.

Jim,

I was pleased to know Allen Taylor for a short time in 80-81. He provided me with the equipment, and instruction, to load and shoot the first rounds I loaded myself. I don't have a record of how many rounds I made with his homemade bullet mold, a lead dipper made from a galvanized elbow and a powder dipper made from a 22 case, but the pleasure it provided me as a dirt-poor 20-something with a family to feed will never be forgotten.

May God grant you comfort in your loss and joy in the knowledge that he is at home with the Lord.

Respectfully,

Jim - I'm very sorry for your loss. Lost my Dad in October 2010, and he was my best friend too. Still feel his and Mom's loss every day. I'm certain they are in heaven now, and as each day goes by the pain is ever-so-slowly replaced with really good and warm memories. I pray that it goes that way for you too. - DixieBoy

So sorry to hear of your loss, Jim.. Sympathies, condolences and prayers for you and your family..

My Dad graduated from this life, just seven years ago this morning, on Christmas Eve.. My sister and I were struck by the thought that he got to go Home for Christmas.. What better way to celebrate the day than at the feet of the Savior Himself....

God Bless you in this time of grief at his loss...

Deepest sympathies & condolences on your loss Jim. Your dad and mine had some things in common. My dad was born in August of 1921, and he too was a shot with9out compare rating expert in both M1 and 1911 Colt. He was a spiritual person though not a church goer always saying grace before every meal when we were kids. I think our dads would have made good friends. Best wishes to you and Twyla.

A life well-lived, and fortunate enough to have been of fair duration, is something to applaud and feel joyful for, even at its conclusion.

The tears are ones of joy and celebration as well as sorrow from those still living out our own lives who will miss the ones who go before us.
