Ten guys, two deer...

Looking at those bucks I estimate they'll get about 6lbs of venison each.

I guess that's worth a day in the woods.

Look at all those double rifles. Surely they couldn't all be hunting with shotguns! :D Cool pic. And, it looks like most of them have ties on.

I could be wrong, but I belive that picture is in the baltics, poland or volyhania (ukraine) or russia? I was raised in wisconsin and I doubt it was that part of the country. That is european dress around 1920 I belive. My grandparents came from there around 1896. These were rich guys, not the peasants.

Maybe, but those sure look like eastern whitetails.

my daughter and I bicycled to the local cemetery last weekend (10-1/2-mi round-trip - she was very excited about the distance milestone)

searching for the oldest tombstones, we found one with a dated 1884 death. This was TX-German country, and and the oldest tombstones all had German writing.
But there were two adjacent child-sized graves, with no dates, and German writing above the common headstone. I'll have to get back and take a photo (or a few).

There are no whitetail "lookalikes" in that part of the world. I think Weidner is correct.
