Very interesting! Sometimes do forget life was in color back then!
Pic of the A-20 bomber could have been my father. He flew those about then as well as flew out of Langley for awhile - I'll have to check his flight logs!

That was the good ole' days...lest we forget. Then again, our expectations weren't so high either.

Could tell that the one thing that was a constant when viewing retail establishments...there was not a shortage of beer.

Thanks for that. I was just a little kid then but I remember lots of kids with no shoes and the ration stamps required to buy them, if you had the money.

yeah, I look back at the B&W Brownie photos of my family and I too forget life was real then. My folks would have fit right in these photos - in 1939 my mom was 5 and my dad was 10.

Kodachrome was a revolutionary product. It was introduced in 1935, and was killed off by digital in 2009, although the orders were so strong after it was announced Kodak would no longer produce it, that it took until January 2011 to make enough to fill all orders.

There are million of rolls of Kodachrome stored in fridges and freezers around the world.

Not only were the colors brilliant, fine grained, deep and saturated, but the darn stuff does not fade over time like E-6 stuff does. Because of this great produce we can see the world since 1935 in accurate and living color. Great stuff isn't it!
