Looks like the Herter's bow is 52# and 27 1/2 inches.

86er, your looking at the patent date on that Bear, a common mistake I see all the time. Serial No. dates that bow to 1969. Both bows seem in great condition, and that Herters is rarely seen these days.

Ceb, do you have a link to a chart on bear serial numbers? I had one at one time, but lost it and I haven't been able to find it again. I have a 1970-1972(can't remember exactly) 48# Tigercat. They are wonderful bows.

Edit: Nevermind, I found a link that told me it's a 1970 (only year they had a 58" AMO)

I have a Bear Kodiak Hunter that I would like to date. The serial # looks to be KT10737 . Says AMO 60 50#

Any ideas guys?

My father has a beautiful Bear Cub that he has had since I was a crumb cruncher.

DerekR, my guess is your bow is from the late '70s. Is it a green color finish on the bow?
