OT - C&B Minis

Post by Old Ironsights »

I've got one of the NAA C&B Minis - the "magnum" version, and was wondering if anyone else has one/has done any load experiments with it.

While I haven't Chrony'd it yet, I seem to have pretty good luck using Beeman .22 18.2gr cup-point "Crow Magnum" pellets over .3cc of Trailboss. No Cap setback and great ignition... plus it's not nearly as messy as my 4F.

The 40gr bullets from NAA are OK, but the pellets seem to be more "accurate" (for a tiny gun with no sights)

I'll have to check that out. I'd never heard of the "mini" before.

North American Arms mini - cap and ball. You've seen these I am sure. They can be sold w/o an ffl transfer.

I went to their site and checked out their Companion C&B mini revolver. Pretty neat. I think I'd put my money into The Earl though. That's a nice looking little gun. I wonder how the Companion would look with a scope.

I like the way the caps fit down into a recessed area. That way they will stay secure - this is a viable carry piece...

I wish they'd upsize it to 36 caliber - that'd be cool!

if they grew it up, even to a true 32, they'd sell em. Then of course a cartridge version in .32 S&W would be all the rage for CAS, where "pocket pistols" most use are old junkers, as there are none curently made that fit the rules.

It would be even more fun than watching The Stig trying to race a three wheel car around a track.

I just picked up one of these that had everything with it but the powder scoop......

A spent cci .22 short case full of H777 filled the chambers to the right depth and the little bullet seating pliers worked well once I got over the awkwardness of needing three hands......

If it wasn't a frog strangling deluge right now, I would be out shooting it !

Here is a c&b that belongs to a buddy, its .22 and unfired. He got it from another friends estate, the widow gave it to him. Problem is the nipples are TINY!

Once they reproduce, the nipples get larger.

O-I i had one, Triple 777 really made it shoot good. Supposedly NAA said you could load 1.5 grs of Bullseye in it but ATF put kabish on it. Said they would reclassify it as a FIREARM if they didn't stop printing that info in manuals. No i never tried it. Todd/3leg

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Even if they are fed with a dipper and straight out of the can/bottle?

Also, what sort of caps are used when the revolver has inverted nipples?
