To go a long with the Military guns topic. Lets see y'alls burners of the holy black. Front stuffers, BPCR, CB pistols its all good

My Lefty flint 54, Early Lancaster. It's got a Green Mountain barrel and L and R lock and triggers.

I've got a CVA Mountain rifle as well.....with supposedly American Made barrel and a cheap Spanish lock that needs to be replaced. Try and get some pics up of that. It is flint but think I will convert it to percussion.

No pic, but I have a ugly, kit-made T/C .54 Renegade. Made it thirty years ago, and it made meat in Indiana back in the day. Had the double set trigger upgrade, too. Nice shooter, and it would put them into the same hole at Squill Range. I should clean it up and play with it sometime soon.

Getting a Snider to shoot well is a lifetime hobby in itself. That one has a mint bore and if I do my part loading the ammo it will group 2 1/2 in at 100 yds. Not exactly a target rifle but it only weighs 6lb and it points and swings like a fine shotgun.

Here's a much-modified DGW Tennessee Rifle, 50 caliber flinter. I only shoot real black powder and patched round ball. Took this pronghorn at about 50 yards, one shot of course, DRT. I have successfully hunted the pronghorn with a traditional muzzleloader for 21 years now, including 10 or 12 with this flintlock.

Here's my only real BP rifle.

An 1844 Harper's Ferry Ohio marked Musket. All 4 1/2 feet of it.

This was given to me by my Grandfather when I was 14.
I have fired it a couple times.

This is a original Remington new model army. It has been refinished and lightly customised probley over 50 years ago as the front sight is a very old king red post. Also the rear hog wallow has been squared up. I have shot it and it shoots well. I bought it close to 40 years ago.

Hey Joe that works I have seen you shoot BP through it so it counts.

Cabela's kit gun in .50. I found it like that at a pawn shop.

Ruger Old Army w/ his cousin the Blackhawk in .45. When I do my part, both of these guns can really shoot.

Here's my doe from the 2009 season, taken with my Lyman Great Plains, 50 cal. It's usually a nice moderately cool weekend during muzzleloader season, but this year we got 6-8" of snow the night before opening day, and into opening morning.

Shiloh Sharps, .40 2-5/8 BN (.40-90SBN):

Uberti 1873 rifle & Colt SAAs (that have seen LOTS of BP):

EMF BP framed Hartford models (although they ain't seen much BP, they're the right style!):

I don't have any BP burners, just a comment. Out of all the muzzle loaders, past or present, I think the Hawken rifle is one of the spiffiest looking of all. It is on my short list of things to get. Just love the way those guns look.

Here is my TC Hawkins in .54 it is wearing a Green Mtn. round ball barrel. Been my main Mule Deer rifle since about 1985.

I bought both of these in the 80's and they work so well, I have never had the need to buy another charcoal burner

This rifle was built for me by a friend when I lived in middle TN. It has a .451 Douglas barrel Dixie lock and maple stock. He also made the pistol, both in 1968, that rifle has taken a few deer with a .451 patched round ball and 90 grains of fffg.

The best one I have(actually only one)for black powder.
Second photo,the Ruger SS Vaquero with the Ruger logo on the grip (I just keep a lot of Windex on hand)

Honestly this gun shoots right around inch groups at 50 feet with BP loads.
Yes its my Cartridge/Blackpowder shooter. (just kinda neat shooting the BP loads)

Who says one gun can't do both!

A homemade 44 flinter smooth bore.

A Pietta Navy Arms Remington 1858. (the accuracy of this revolver never ceased to impress me)
