I'd like to find out when my Marlin was made.
I just picked up a Golden 39A today.
There are wear marks on the stock and bluing,
some spots of bluing that I need to polish, but otherwise
it is a clean gun for shooting. All the edges are sharp.
Wood to metal fit is better than most I have seen.
Buttplate and sights are original to the gun.
Round barrel with front sight hood.
Marlin bullseye in the stock.
Serial number 19232xxx
Most 39A's I have handled felt like the front stocks were pregnant, and the rear stocks were overweight.
This gun handles very nice.
Thanks
Good Shootin!!

help date my 39A please...........

Re: help date my 39A please...........
Thank you.
I knew it was not real old.
That was the year I bought my first house,
and asked my best girl to marry me.
Over 27 years later that girl and I
are still together, and she still lets me buy guns.
Thanks again.

She sounds like a keeper to me! The wife, that is.
