Local Dealer Got Some Small Rifle Primers
I stopped by a local gunshop hoping (dreaming) to find some some small pistol primers. No go, but he did get 5,000 CCI400 small rifle. Said he was surprised to get them, though only a fraction of what he ordered. I picked up a 1000 for trading stock. Maybe I can swap with someone for some pistol primers. I give him credit for not gouging, only $34 a thousand. Hope this dry spell comes to an end soon.

If you are using them in good .357 revolvers or Leverguns SR works every bit as good as SP.

Re: Local Dealer Got Some Small Rifle Primers
Things are slowly looking up around here. My dealer recently got in a shipment of powder he'd had on order for a long time and called to let me know that he had a 4 lb. jug of Unique stuck back for me. When I stopped by to pick it he told me that he was expecting a shipment of primers on the 29th and the distributor had offered him a bunch of PMC brand primers too.
He took some but stated that he had never tried them before and couldn't ever remember seeing them offered before. I've shot a lot of PMC ammo and never had a problem with it so I asked him to stash some back for me,they are supposed to be lead-free. Maybe there will be stuff back in the pipeline before too long.

What price IS gouging? I think $34/K is pretty steep!CBinNH wrote:I give him credit for not gouging, only $34 a thousand.

Thanks for the link OI,
SmokeEater2,
I have had good luck with PMC ammo too. I am leery of lead free primers though. They don't last as long as the "leaded" type.
JustaJeepGuy,
The going rate on Gunbroker seems to be $60 to $80 per thousand right now for small pistol & small rifle nearly as much too. Insanity. Makes $34 sound cheap to me.

Sixty to $80/K?? Somebody's gone off the deep end! Buyers are nuts!

Would you consider this gouging?

That MAY be slightly out of control.

Re: Local Dealer Got Some Small Rifle Primers
Well, at the last two shows there have only been 2 tables with primers. One guy asking $65-75/K (don't recall the type of primers) and another asking $100/K for Wolf primers. Other than stopping to laugh, no one gave them a second look...JustaJeepGuy wrote:What price IS gouging?
