Ive always liked the looks of the Savage 99 though ive never had the oppurtunity to shoot one. My grandfather had one in 300 savage. I'm told it sported an octagon barrel and it never left the family after he died but no one is saying where it actually is located. Its been kinda like the holy grail of lever actions for me. If i ever do get one in 300 or 303 savage seeing as ive never owned either caliber.

Nobody is telling you the Savage rifles's whereabouts!!??
That would be torture! How painful!
Good luck on your quest locating and possessing it!
Hopefully, it's not in a barn or garage; abused, unused, and slowly rusting away...
Savage 99s are a true prize to adore, maintain, carry and shoot.

Haha, yes its a shame is'nt it. The Win. model 1895 is on the list of must haves before i die, preferably one without the fluted receiver.
