I believe Turnbull even did a takedown 1876 or 1873 conversion not too long ago. He does do the case colors and dark wood very well.
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.

I agree that Turnbull does an excellent job. But I always thought that his case colors were more reminiscent of Marlin, rather than Winchester. From what I've seen of museum piece quality rifles, Winchester case colors weren't as brilliant as what he is turning out. I know--I know..I'm too picky

Wish my Turnbull 76 action had come out that well. Mine has too many blues for my taste. Maybe the difference between original metals and replica metals.

If I were to somehow be able to acquire that rifle, I'd buy me a horse and saddle and then head out to the boonies and hunt something.
I'd have to use that rifle for something other than a dust catcher.

Very Beautiful and great work. It ought to be for the $30K price tag.

I'm with Joe, but I am a sucker for CCH... Makes no sense, but I love those colors.

Some details? Is this built on one of the new repros of the original 1876?

Turnbull only builds off the originals, supposedly ones that are not in "collectable" condition as they are.

What a coincidence
I was just searching for my Monday flight to Rochester and map-quested from the antique mall to Turnbulls to visit them.
Not sure if they are open for walk-in, but hoping they are. 12 minutes from Farmington, it seems.
