New Lever Actions

Post by Ken41 »

Well, since others are showing recent acquisitions, I thought that I should join in. The C. Sharps High Wall is a 45-90 32" heavy barrel. The Uberti Low Wall is a 30WCF 30" barrel.Image

I have just finished the barrel break in for the High Wall, and am in the process of barrel break in on the Low Wall, since the weather has become nasty, it will probably take a little longer.

Merry Christmas to all

Merry Christmas to you too!

Congratulations I really like the Uberti Low Wall been wanting one in 22Hornet for a while now.
With a .45cal entrance wound I don't worry too much about bullet expansion.

Let us know how they shoot, especially the .45-90.

Very nice. Love those 1885s. Wish Uberti made theirs in .32-40, but will have to save my pennies for the Winchester version.

What a coincidence...I looked at an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Uberti 1885 yesterday with a checkered, pistol grip stock in .405 Winchester. This rifle looked like an absolute gem, and if it had been in 38-55 or 45-70, I would have bought it. I was smitten so bad that last night I priced Uberti 1885 barrels in 38-55.

I also looked at one of Pedersolli's "John Bodine" rolling blocks with a pistol grip and double-set triggers in 45-70. That, gentlemen, is one HECK of a rifle, if you are a roller fan. VERY nicely executed.

Neither one of these are Shiloh's but they are VERY good rifles, regardless.

Thanks for the comments.

The Uberti looks like it should be able to do 1" groups at 100 yards. I am still playing with the sights, and have been shooting Winchester factory ammo. I want to try some 168gr Match Kings, the twist is 1:12. The trigger still needs worked on. It does not go to full cock on closing the action, but this might be able to be changed, I have not taken it apart yet. I am also thinking about adding mounts for the 10X Unertl.

The 45-90 has a 1:18 twist and is shooting 3 to 4 inch groups at 200yds. I have not worked up loads yet. When I ordered this, I had the wood left sanded, but no finish. I used Logwood stain to get the darker finish that I like. Might have to get two sets of scope mounts.
