I have two model 88 winchesters in 308 at local gun shops. They were both $550 and had basket weave stocks.I think its a good deal.I do wish it was another caliber besides the 308 but I guess it would do.It would be cool to rebarrel to 338 federal.A friend has one he found in a dump that was trashed and rebarreled it to 35-284.Its an awesome gun.I have never shot a model 88 but I heard they are accurate.
