My old name was stupid( see below) and I am glad to have a simple name that represents me well. Ya know, cause it's my name.

BTW, Ysabel Kid how do you pronounce that? I have probably been botching it up(in my head) this whole time. :?

It is pronounced "sable"; rhymes with "cable". The "Y" is silent.

You can see the cover of the western from the 60's in my signature bar. JT Edson was a western writer out of England. I've read almost all of his stuff. Someone said that the Ysabel Kid reminded them of me, so I read the book and got hooked. that was 25 years ago.

The Kid and I had the same taste in armament, attire (in my youth), and a similar heritage. I guess that is why my friend thought of me when reading it!:D

Don't worry, that's how us normal people pronounce words that start with "y". Yes that is exactly how I was "saying" it too...

MY NAME IS

Post by blueroan »

I kept trying to log on with the old name, didn't work!

Tried to register and that didn't work very well either. Did some cursing and then threw myself on the mercy of the administrator...and got back here finally!

I was EDK at sixgunner and shiloh and blue roan at other places. Blue Roan is for the big Appaloosa that was my oversized baby for 30 years and is buried down the hill from the house.

Names don't mean near as much as who you are...some of the old crowd from sixgunner; some new people that I like pretty well already. I'm back among family.

Happy holidays ..... whatever we call ourselves

Being a certifiable schizophrenic with complete ids in both personalities, I figured it was far simpler to just use the one screen name. Especially as it's what I answer to more than any of my "REAL" names!

Howdy, Folks

I'm Still "oldsawfever" here as there, that name is cause I've been collecting old Chainsaws longer than Lever Guns but not longer then I've been shooting.
I got my first gun at age 9, A single shot Remington 12 gauge Shot Gun.
The next year in 1970 I got a Remington Nylon 66 bolt action by mowing yards and I've still got it. Yea! :P
Not sure what happened to the Shot Gun. :?

You'd need to hunt for it. Some used book stores may have it - but I doubt it. You can probably find a used one cheap on line at Amazon.com or somewhere like that. I always check for reprints when I am in book stores, as there are a few I never got, but some book stores don't even carry westerns any longer! :(

I saved all of mine, and I'm reading them to/with my son. It is a good time for us to bond!

One of the things I really liked about the JT Edson "Floating Outfit" series is the continuity of the characters. That and his attention to detail on the firearms - I really learned a lot just reading these books! :D
