Well, I'm looking over this stainless .45 colt src Puma I just picked up. It's a pre-safety new old stock gun from a shop in NY. The action cycles flawlessly, the trigger pull is perfect, looks new with out a scratch but then I see a strange tweak in the front site and on closer inspection I find that the mag tube not straight! Curves to the right about 6" back from the muzzle. Bummer. I call the dealer and he was quite surprised that I didn't want to return it, he is willing to take it back, but I say how about finding a mag tube and we'll see how it shoots then decide, he says OK.
So, anyone got a line on a stainless mag tube for a 20" carbine? Or, how do you all feel about straightening this one? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...
mag tube for a puma...

I'd at least try to straighten that one. Why spend money you don't have to?
Now before you do anything, check the hole on the bottom of the barrel that the magazine plug screw fits into.
It should be exactly at the 6:00 position. If it's off either way it will put a bent in the mag tube. And eventually the recoil will cause the screw to break and the hole to be torn out of the bottom of the barrel.
This is what happened to my Rossi. It was the last straw.
