I dont know either but wish I had one. I had my choice when I bought my 44 mag in jan 87 for $276.90, wish I had bought both! Doubt now that it would have changed my life.

Don't know how many were made, but new guns in the box are $1000+ now. Shooters are $600+. If I found a nice shooter grade gun for $600 or less, I'd buy it and count myself blessed.
