Re: rjjohns post on mob violence drew a lot of responses
OK a little clarification. Yes, legitimate SD is legal everywhere, even "here", problem is You can't get a carry permit which would enable an effective SD possible, you can get a pistol permit that allows possession in the home, for hunting, where legal, and "To and from the range&quo...

Lately I've been considering a SA 22. unless your coon is a much better grade, $10 is optimistic, plus they
are worth exactly zero in the summer.
All the years I sold coon, I could only avg.a little over $6 per coon. Thats the average, mix those $1 coons with your $20 coon and see what they're really worth.

The vinegar should work over time, but you can really de-rust something fast with acid, muriatic or sulphuric acid can be bought in any box store.
Just watch it closely and neutralize with baking soda when your done. Shouldn't hurt the steel parts but any plating may not fare so well.

As long as you can use buckshot, I'd just load it up with triple 0,... I know, that wasn't the question, but with the 10 you would have a potent load as long as it will pattern.
A single ball works in a BP gun cause you have rifling, in a shotgun I'd suspect accuracy would be lacking.

How were the sights?
My son bought a blued Henry 22 and with the rear sight all the way down, it shoots 2 1/2" high at about 50 yds.
You can't put a taller front on either as the front sight and bbl. band is one piece, with no dovetail.
He's been meaning to call customer service about it.

Stick with the 150 or 170 Corelokt SP"s
It sounds counter intuitive but that HP is designed for deeper penetration and won't perform like the SP's, why they thought it was a good idea is beyond me, the 170 CL penetrates just fine as it is.
If you want a faster response on deer, try the 150's.
