Bestlever loaded a 30wcf AI with 130gr pointy bullets and used the 336 as a two shooter. this would tell us for curiosity sake if its bullet push in or inadequate neck tension that's the root cause of your problem. It was all in the lack of neck tension with Unique powder, Jason. If the bullets were getting pushed in he'd have ended up with high pressure problems from the reduced case ...

You will save yourself some serious elbow grease by going to one of the foaming bore cleaners. I happily use either the "Wipe-Out" Brushless Bore Cleaner or the "Gunslick" Foaming Bore Cleaner. And am real happy they got invented!

Ben -- we need to know what bullet you are using and your overall length to put the question to QuickLoad. If you want best results you might also see what the water capacity is filled level full, or we would have to let QuickLoad use a generic guess.

Yeah, as Rimfire says, those new Alliant powders including their "Varmint" and also Hodgdon's LVR. Until then I've thought I'd use Hodgdon's H380 as a stand-in for the LVR. Any other thoughts on how we might deal with lack of specific powder data for powders we want to play with?
