Fred, Nice to hear you are wanting to expand your shooting pleasure by hand loading your own ammo. I am so glad that I took the plunge several years ago and learned to hand load my ammo. I now load about a dozen different cartridges and have learned volumes about our sport BECAUSE I took up loading....

Ok, Unless this came to me in a dream I seem to remember reading about a cartridge that was a 30-40 Krag blown out to a .40 krag. Basically a pretty straight walled cartridge using 30-40 krag brass.

All I have on hand are Winchester Small Pistol Mag Primers and I have been using them with 5.2grns of Universal Clays under a 125 grn Hornady. These are loaded in 38 special cases. Shoot them out of my SP101 .357 mag. They seem to me to run about like a 38 +P or so.

Jason, I have a 270 load that is pretty much a 30/30 equivalent if you hand load. Very accurate.
