I never have understood how tang sights are "in the way" when shooting? It seems like a simple solution to just not wrap your thumb over the top of the tang. You can't leave it there and work the lever anyway, so why keep changing positions every time you work the lever? Just leave it alon...

The little #6 screws that hold the rings tight on that type of Weaver ring will snap before you have to worry about too much tension. With that tiny screw and slot, you wont need to worry.

Never been much of a marlin guy myself, but that is a nice bunch. I like the 44-40 with the 28" barrel. How much would one have to pay for something like that?? The longer the barrel, the bigger the price tag. That particular 94 still has some case colors, and most of the original barrel bluin...

Yes, surprisingly this Wesson retains a bit more finish than most I've seen in the past. They usually had plain wood, and this one really has some deluxe wood too.

Well the Federal .327 magnum looks perfect! With a case length of 1.20", it's only .04" shorter than my .32 Ballard XL! Finally a new case that wont be a pain to make!!!!!!!!! :D

Yes Mike, it's just a weird rifle, and that makes it even more interesting to me! I was looking in my safe at the various pistol caliber Marlins I have, and there's only two out of ten that are standard guns. An 1888 in .38-40, and a '94 in .44-40 cal.

Like Gravertom said, take the 73 to an engraver and he can engrave the missing numbers to match the rest. I've had Dale Woody do this for me on a gun that had a repaired lower tang, which removed two digits.

I'm trying to find something as a base brass for my .32 Ballard Extra Long. Right now I'm using .32 H&R Mag brass, but it's still about .2" shorter than I need. I nhave to seat the bullets out too far, or just let them make the jump to the bore.

The .40-70SS used to be a huge pain, but since Hornady reintroduced the .405 Win. it's a snap! I just run the .405 through my dies and load them up with a new 430 grain bullet, sized to .406"
I used to stretch .30-40 Krag brass and fireform it to fit the chamber. Tons of work!

How many of you guys shoot rifles that require forming brass, or buying special made brass and dies in order to shoot? Seems I spend a lot of time either loading up, or forming and loading oddball ammo around here.I'd guess over half the guns I own are in some caliber I could never buy off the shelf...

If the gun was manufactured before 1968, there is no law that says you have to have a serial number on it.
