Re: Why is it...
...Why is it that when something is posted, it gets ignored? If your posts usually have vague ambiguous titles, that could be one reason. I only clicked out of curiosity. GOA does exactly what you are asking for. Alerts, senators numbers, and pre-written e-mails. NRA does not. Of course they are fo...

My daughter introduced us to the Red Greed show when she was in high school. What a funny guy. Miss that show. Found it on DVD and plan to order. Got a MilSpec myself. It's been OK, course it got a little dry a couple times, but ol Malamute fixed er up with some crankcase oil off the dipstick in his truck an she was runnin fine. I've noticed that milspec runs better a little wet, otherwise I get some stovepipes. I like the 1911 ok, but I'm in...

Hobie, as far as your statement about commonality of parts, that is exactly why I have not done a 6.8. I can get Pravi 75gr BTHP match for under $8 a box of 20, or reman Black Hills 77gr when its available for about the same price, and I dont have to switch caliber. The only reason I have even consi...

I'll have to do more research on the Grendal (sp?) vs the .22 Highpower type 77 gr. bullets. One possible consideration is that the .22 is NOT deer legal in this state. However, ammo availability might trump that. I've some experience with the system having been a pseudo unit armorer for man...

Joe, it stands for Dept of Civilian Marksmanship. The DCM guns are set up for long range competition. Finer adjustments on the sights, heavy slow twist barrels for heavier bullets. trigger jobs, fitted bolts and lead in the but stock. You don't want to be packing one around, they are heavy! But the...

Hobie, I don't think your too far off though. It's true that the 6.5 Grendal is better ballistically speaking, but how prevalent is it, and how easy is it to get ammunition for? Does the fact it uses the 7.62x39 case (easily the most manufactured case in the world) and it's made by the largest ammu...

The Grendel doesn't quite do it for me. Am I off-base? Yes, you are Hobie. The Grendal is much superior to the 6.8. The Grendal is also ballisically equivelent to the .308, and in some cases better. It uses a 7.62x39 case that is straightened then necked to .264, which means it uses a common ...

Joe, most manufacturers make what you are looking for. It's the A2, or civilian version of the M-16A2. Standard trapdoor buttstock with cleaning kit, carry handle with A2 elevation and windage adjustable sights, 20in 1in7 5.56 chrome lined barrel, flash hider and bayonet lug. Should be able to order...

A buddy of mine I hadn't talked to in awhile was just telling me about this rifle he traded into. Found out he's been wackin elk and deer with it using the Hornady gummy tips and he's crazy about the combo. Kinda funny for someone who used to be a bolt guy  . Also found out he's gone to using a...

There should not be any problem with Dennis going down to UPS and shipping the gun to the receiving FFL himself. I have done this with forum members here and elsewhere, they dont even require the receiving FFL's paperwork anymore. Perhaps NE has some laws I don't know about, or some dealers won't re...

I carry a 1911 IWB or a Taurus compact 9mm (yea yea :P ) but I bought one of those SP 101's 5 years back for the wife. It sits in the glove box and once in awhile I stick it in a front pocket. It doesn't bother me to shoot, but both the wife and daughter prefer to shoot the 1911 over everything. It ...

Buy C-products mags here for 9.95-12.95. Do not pay $20 for a Bushy or any other mag, they are probably made by C-products anyway. Buy as many as you can while you can. Same with ammo. Cabelas has good prices on bulk Wolf, and yes, you can safely use steel cased ammo in your AR. http://www.aimsurplu...
