How much do the cases expand. Tutt had some 45 Colts that expanded .010" and didn't split but that is too much. I had a 6mm Rem that would split some factory cases but it was out of round - measure the cases from a couple of different points.

Nothing was necessary after the 6mm Rem, 300/338/458 Win Mag.

They richochet too - shot probably 10,000 rounds of big lead bullets at about 800 fps in a range with a 30 ft high hill behind it. You could see them hit the hill on richochet. They would dig into wet dirt. It is usually dry here.

If you are going to shoot a 120 gr bullet get a 270 which is another whole class. We are realistically talking about shooting a 100 gr bullet and there the 6mm is the champ.

I think it is north central - Etna Green - ASSRA holds meets there - black powder I believe.

243s and 6mms work fine for smallish deer and antelope with over 100 killed among friends here - of course they are all good shots and know where they should shoot.
