In school, stock making we were taught that while inletting the barrel channel to leave 2 spots near the forend tip that would always be in contact, 1/4" wide by 1/2" long. The idea was as the barrel warmed up it would expand and thus stop harmonic vibes. It works but you want first shot f...

40gr Vmax, 13.1 of 4227 would easily stay under a half inch off sand bags at 100. Since there is no reason to NOT shoot a spitzer I never bothered with the Bee bullet for accuracy testing. I relieved the forend/ receiver so it could get glassed, opened the barrel channel and added a pressure point a...

3legg, the life of planer blades can be dependent on what the main diet is. Soft woods they should last quite a while. Hard woods less. Dirty/ painted will eat the edge off the blades fast. Amount of use will determine life too. As with all cutting tools the steel has much to do with the life span. ...

Many years ago at 'the farm' one of the boys had a '67 Ford he was going to restore when he got out of the Army. Well he would have needed to replace everything from the frame up by the time we finished shooting it! We poured thousands of rounds into that truck. .22s, center fire including AP & ...

I've been looking for a 20 double, not a whole lot on the market for new stuff- although the Fabarms Autum looks appealing. As for used I find the Parker's and Fox's just don't fit me.

A Weaver scope ring will hold the 1" diameter just fine, easy to loosen with that big thumb wheel too. Hardest part will be getting a piece of base fastened. Suppose ya could try duct tape.
