I got some boots from Daughter. She is also taking me to Jazz Alley to a show of my choice. My Mom and Aunt sent some cash and Santa got me a couple nice guns: A Model 88 in .284 (needs cleaned up a little) and a Rossi SxS 20ga hammergun I have coming in from this board.

Wow. I gave a guy at work 80 bucks for one a couple years ago because he was hurting for cash. I just stuck it in back and haven't even looked at it. Maybe I'm missing out....If it runs good, I'll get a few mags and keep it handy.

I really have not bought gun mags for a very long time. The reviews would almost always be favorable and Poof, low and behold, the advertisement for the same gun would be within a page or two of the really cool review... I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid.

When some 405 gr 45-70 loads that were ok for my 1895 wouldn't chamber in the 1886EL, I just ran them thru the seating process again. No harm, no foul and another couple hundreths off the OAL did the trick. I Just seat all of them at the shorter OAL now so to prevent a problem of grabbing the wrong ...

I agree. Color pictures would have made this book much more desireable. Even a center section of say 6 to 8 pages of color pictures would have helped. Still, the book is pretty informative.
