Oh yes...Boys Town in Matamoros. The first, last and only time I was shot at was there about 59 or 60. I was in a place where one fellow shot another fellow in the head and everybody headed for the door, not wanting to get scooped up by the police. The Smith and Wesson 38/44 was known as the "Heavy Duty" in the fixed sight version and the "Outdoorsman" in the adjustable sight version. Anyway you served it up, they are fine sixguns. I have a couple, a 4" and a 5" Heavy Duty.

40 to 60 years ago, those grips were available in Mexico at most stores that catered to the tourist trade. I lived in Brownsville (and still do) and bought and sent a couple dozen pair north for folks who wanted them. I always jacketed the price enough to stop at the US Bar in Matamoros for a few dr...

I bought my first Randall in 1963 and have not been without one or more since that time. When I bought my first one, you could count the custom knife makers in this country on the fingers of one hand. Since that time the numbers have increased to hundreds if not thousands. The 45 ACP round was the first handgun round I loaded in 1961. Prior to that it had been all rifle. Most (but not all) 336s were drilled and tapped by the factory for that sight. Don't get the shanks until you have checked out the rifle. If it is not D&T it is not much of a job to do that. It does take a drill press though. I would not suggest folks do it with a hand held drill.

I would not place my entire faith in a Magic Marker. You should make certain your cases are a good fit for the rifle BEFORE you load the rounds. If you are a cast bullet shooter the 32 WS has the 30-30 beat hand down due to the slower barrel twist. If you don't shoot cast bullets, there is nothing to be gained over the 30-30.
