Re: Marlin is going back to the factory....again

The UPS call tag arrived over the weekend, so it headed back to the factory this morning. Now they have their opportunity to make it right.

Re: I noticed I was running low on pork, so....

I did a head shot on mine when he leaned over to drink. The bullet went out his neck. Both hogs dropped in their tracks.

Re: I noticed I was running low on pork, so....

What did you take it with? I wish I could tell you I took it with one of my "92"s or even my "336"........but I had the 300 Win Mag with me that day. There are Russian Boar on the property, sheep, etc but the old "under 500 lb" farm pigs running wild taste the best to m...

I noticed I was running low on pork, so....

We made an 80 mile run to the cattle ranch and spent maybe an hour hiking around the 10,000 acre ranch when we spotted 2 hogs about 200 yards away on the other side of a big pond. We got about 75 yards closer and took both hogs. My 13 year old daughter took pictures and video on that trip. http://i3...

Re: Bear Defense in Alaska by TCB in TN on Mon Oct 13, 2008 9:57 pm In my experience most stats are just a bunch of bunk. I don't believe them any more than I do most politicians! If I had to pick one, it sure ain't the bear spray! Did you know 76% of all statistics are made up on the spot............

Re: Marlin is going back to the factory....again

The first two problems were fixed quickly by Marlin. When I got the gun you could only remove the tube feed with vise grips and they fixed that. The action was REALLY stiff and seemed to catch in a few spots and they fixed that also on the first trip back in to the factory. I expect the UPS call tag...

Re: Marlin is going back to the factory....again

I'll give Marlin another opportunity to make it right. I'm just a little disappointed that this is one of the more expensive .22 leveraction guns available, and one I would like to consider as a future family heirloom. A friend of mine had bought another brand lever in .22 and it was fine right out ...

Marlin is going back to the factory....again

I bought a new Marlin 39A and had some problems with it right out of the box. I called the factory and they were very nice on the phone and turned the gun around in 10 days. They fixed 2 of the 3 issues. The problem I'm having is it still misfires 10% of the time. It consistently misfires and I've r...

Re: OT - Practical jokes

I'm (was) one of the worst offenders. When a co-worker had me fired 20+ years ago (jokingly) and the termination papers said,"replaced by owners dog", and reason for termination,"failure to bring doughnuts per Rod". The whole office staff chuckled while I read the paper. 2 months...

If Utah is close enough for you, we just hunted a private ranch mid April in Corrine and took 5 hogs. One of the guys went back up last week and got a 900 lb'er. 5 other guys went up last Saturday and their's averaged over 800 lb's. I think his website is riverbendhunts.com . I shot two smaller ones...

I bought a Puma 357 that was a little slow to cycle cartridges, so I ordered Steve's DVD, reduced spring, and metal mag follower and its a slick little rifle now. I just mounted a Marbles Peep on it. I can't wait to do the Puma 454 with the same mods now. The guns are a good value, and fun to work on.

Cabelas

I've been to the Cabelas south of Salt Lake City about a half dozen times. I went there several times to buy rifles but ended up leaving and driving to Sportsman's warehouse to make the purchase instead. Cabelas prices aren't that good, and its normal to have 10 people at the guncounter waiting for ...
