I appreciate the advise and concern for my well-being. In my younger days I did have progressive loaders and used them. As I have gotten older I have regressed back toward my beginnings. I enjoy reloading with the Lyman 310 Tool and even the old Lee Loader, though I don't use them all that much. And...

Little-Known Reloading Phenomena
I discovered this during an extended session of prepping brass and reloading. I had approximately 2500 fired 9mm cartridges and had spent weeks sorting them by headstamp and then resizing, depriming them, neck expanding and then priming. Then I loaded them all. It was a massive undertaking using my ...

I have not used anything on game but flat nose bullets when using cast bullets. The Keith SWC or LBT LFN mostly. Before heavy cast bullets were available for the heavy .45 Colt loads I used Lyman #457191 45-90 rifle bullet sized down for the .45 Colt. It is a flat nose but the meplat is smaller than...

Jim, Those swaged bullets were soft and I image the were flat real soon after hitting flesh. I used to buy them real cheap (Remington)and they did shoot real good. I am not sure this will count but I had several .25 ACP Raven's when I was younger. I won't laugh but I will say my .32-20 rifle loads gave right at 2000 fps with 125 gr. Spitzer and 1800 fps with 140 gr. LBT cast bullet. The 100 gr. Speer JHP ran over 2100 fps. Now 1100+ fps from the little handgun is pretty durn hot and nothing to be sneezed at as long as it is reliable and accur...

I shot .44-40's out of my 410 when I was a kid. Made a really neat slug load.
EDIT: I also shot .30-30's. Pointed straight up the bullet would go about 15 feet or so. Big boom. If the brass didn't split I reloaded them with shot.

Parlour Pistols and Flobert Loads
Messing around with some .22 caliber round balls in the air rifle, I hit upon the idea of loading and shooting them in my little .22 caliber Bearcat Shopkeeper. No powder charge, just the priming. And it worked pretty well! So from there I decided to see how they compared to the Colibri .22's loaded...

I bought a tin of GAMO .22 caliber round balls to shoot in the air rifle. They seem to do better than pellets, at least in the gun we have.
