Re: OK - I'm Officially Old
Congratulations. Passed that threshold two years ago. As much as we may complain, I get up ever morning and thank the Lord for allowing me another day on the green side of the grass. Now that I am officially retired, I don't know why I waited so long. It is by far the best time I have had since I go...

Re: Who else bought a Model 1911 "One Hundred Years Late"???
Look up the Springfield Mil-Spec Champion. Commander-sized, standard GI internals. Slightly better (3-dot) sights and opened up ejection port, but otherwise, pretty much original 1911. Thank you, I'll do that. Probably cause a lot of trouble around here just before Christmas, but perhaps I can edit...

Have owned several 1911's over the years but did not own one when the centennial hit. So I decided that I should own another and bought a Remington R1. Thought about a fancier one like a Kimber of some sort, but decided on the Remington because it looked simple but good, and it was available for a g...

When growing up on the desert South West, the 22 was a great round with very little else needed for bumming. In nutshell, the quality is outstanding, every bit as good fit and finish wise as my Browning 92, if not better in the limited edition version I have. Just finished a good article in the fall Guns of the Old West magazine about the Winchester 92. IMO, regarding Model 92's - every buyer should decide for themselves whether or not paying 2X the cost of a Rossi for the bling of an Italian clone is worth it to them, for the guns are mechanical clones.
