Rossi 92 480 ruger conversion
Just saw a factory Rossi 480 ruger go on gunbroker for a decent sum. it got me thinking and I assume someone considered it a long time before me- can an existing Rossi 92 be converted to 480 ruger? Or is Rossi doing something special during 480 manufacture eg some dimensional difference in the actio...

Got it cheap, an old gunsmith had bought one to match his 454 super redhawk and didnt like the recoil so it fired only 40 rounds in 10 years( reportedly). Family is selling the gun off. Appears to be the later/recent generation with the load gate on the tube and I assume this means its also threaded...

I was wondering the other day with a lot of the custom gunsmiths, writers and so forth I grew up with getting on, is there are new generation coming up to replace them. Id been wondering that myself. Too short a barrel for my tastes, wastes some of the 444's advantage. Seems every rifle barrel is getting shorter and shorter these days.

. I'm not too recoil-sensitive I guess, because I like my little 16" Rossi 454, even shooting Buffalo Bore ammo in it. I really LIKE the tube-port, mostly for unloading when I return into the house if out hunting - cycling rounds through a gun without firing them certainly isn't that difficult...

I notice Paco and a few others authors say the Win bigbore was a stronger action than the standard marlins, capable of 50kpSI + , Handling chamber pressure is one thing, but heavy loads can affect other parts of a gun, even shake them to peices. Wondered if anyone has run them hard for long and can ...

I used a 357 rossi as my only centrefire for a long time, mostly shooting hogs. My pick of the bullets are the 158XTP HP for a couple of reasons. Fellas what do you consider the best bullets out there for the most thump in 44 mag. Barnes does its 300 grain buster but I think a hardcast would be even better as you can push it faster at the same pressure. I believe there are even heavier bullet weights that work well in 44 as well. I know buffa...
