Its 1" across the flats. I want to take it back to 50 cal but it looks like it will have to be 51. Wonder what the deal is there? Seems to me since all 50 Caliber muzzleloader barrels are .500 that the liners should be too.

Anybody know a source of a barrel liner in 50 cal (1:48 or 1:60 twist) that is .500/.520 diameter? Track of the wolf and TJs both have liners but in .510/.530. I just got my shot out muzzleloader barrel drilled out to 11/16 and want a .500 bore liner.

My hunch is that the decline of small game in most areas is due to the explosion of the house cat population rather than due to birds of prey. No i would not shoot a bird of prey.

Okay, found my data. This is still a work in progress. As a base, my best load using hornady 200 gn JFN is 49.5 grains of IMR 3031. According to Hornady I should get 2440 fps, with my chrono I get 2390 fps. Only shot 3 groups with this load, 3 shots each at 100 yards from a bench with the open sight...

I am not sure the original owners actually get them back! I have heard horror stories about this...the cops keep them for evidence, then the insurance company that initially paid you for them asks that they be destroyed.
