Re: Knife Build: attaching wood handles
Thank you Piller! So, I like the slim rounded profile of the knife pictured above. I guess the trick will be getting all those pins just the right length. I can see why many folks go with three large/centered rivets or bolts as it looks easier.

Re: Knife Build: attaching wood handles
Thanks to all of you for your input on this! I like the corbett bolt idea as it would provide a sure hold on the scales, but I am not sure I will use them on this particular knife. I kind of like the idea of the smaller brass pins. I am rehabbing another that it should be ideal for though. Thank you...

Knife Build: attaching wood handles
So I am stumped. I have this knife blade and some very pretty striped sugar maple wood for handles. http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/452/2/BLADE-CUMBERLAND Despite searching on the magical web I cannot find a demonstration for attaching knife handles with pins. Do I need to g...

In my wife's mind all you need for biscuits n gravy is bacon grease. She doesn't care if there's sausage or not. +1 !!! There is nothing like Okie milk gravy made with bacon grease/ drippings, browned in flour and over homemade biscuits. Even with 1% milk it will still curl you toes....possibly gro...

Resist all attempts at soaking cut down shotshells in oil to "deaden" the primer. It does not work and the cleanup can last hours.

I shoot the 356 Win.....am more of a shooter than a hunter. But my first reaction would be that Speer 220 as well. It was made for the 356 Win. and is made to hold together. I have used the Beartooth 210 gr. Cast on a hog and penetration was amazing. Look forward to your report!

We've only been after the hogs once with them but looking forward to getting out again. The 356 Win. was very impressive on my smaller 165 pound boar. First "lever" shot was about four or five years old with an Ithaca 49. We shot bottles and cans a good bit near the Superstition Mountains in AZ. Later, living in CA with a cowboy Uncle, my Dad sent me a Model 94 Win. By that time I was way into old west history, and knew that Frank Hamer ...
