Re: No offense to John Browning, but....

Since I bought My 100 + year old Winchester 1892, it has not been taken apart by anyone but a qualified gunsmith.
However, when I bought 1886 and 1895 Miroku/Winchester rifles I did remember to shop for and buy take down models. :)

Re: 357 vs 44 Levergun - video

COsteve, I do not remember the velocity claimed by Buffalo Bore for their 180 grain loads, but they do shoot well in my 1892 .357 with 20 inch barrel. I have never bothered to Chrony them as I usually hunt with lighter handloads or 158 factory loads. Even 125 grain factory ammo kills hogs well. I do...

I heard that you had given up on Euro Trash caliber rifles.

It may be good therapy to ask yourself "why do I want to do this" about 1000 times before you mess up a good 1895.

Seriously, what is our objective?

How to add loaded chamber indicator to M39 S&W

For Sixgun or any pistol smiths that know the Model 39 and can answer my question. I am asking because I have two auto loaders that have this feature and it looks to be a simple mechanism. Their simple implementation provides a trouble free tactile and visual loaded/not loaded answer. Those are an o...

Re: Crossdraw holster

Another plus, is that when driving around the ranch, the gun is free to draw - moreso than if carried strong side. This is true for right handed shooters.
Years ago, I bought a cross draw for my .44 mag just for driving on our hunting lease- worked out well.

Doc was correct when he said "Maybe I’m wrong ( :o ) but it sure seems like a levergun in 32-20, 327 Federal, 357 Mag, etc" The rifle seems easier to shoot accurately and does add velocity to the .357 round. 6 inch and 20 inch barrels- both just fine for their intended purpose: https://www...

WRT .38 ammo in .357 rifle:

My M1892 .357 with 20 inch Douglas barrel will not stabilize any .38 ammo other than loads with velocity equal to .357 ammo.

You will need to see what weight and velocity ammo your .357 rifle likes and does not like.

Have fun!
