I’m still riding my 1985 fxrs with the original drive belt and the engine has never been broken into. It does not leak oil either and runs excellent. You won’t beat a manually operated action for load versatility. Shooting squib loads to full power, cast to full metal patch the lever gun, revolver, single shot and the like will do it.

IIRC the big knob might be in the way. With a lathe it would go in behind the chuck jaws, but that’s been 25 or so years ago.

Here’s a hardware store version in .410 bore . Mechanical excellent shape no alterations except for a coat of varnish with no sanding evident.

I use the LEE tester and it seems to work fine but I have nothing to compare it with other than a portable Rockwell tester that works in the same manner except it just does C scale.
