My medicare supplement picks up the first $2500 on hearing stuff, which is enough to get Costco's top of the line ones. I use them when I am going to be around a group of people; still reasonably OK in a one-on-one situation (if the other guy will speak up a little!).

My worry is that 1600 fps is not a modest velocity with a non-gas checked bullet. How would the ballistics look at 1400 to 1500 fps? That's about max I expect of my plain-based bullets with accuracy. And you might get that 1600 fps in good shape with powder-coating instead of conventional lube. Just...
