Re: Martini Rifles at "The Battle of Bronkhorstspruit"

Years ago I had [ HAD]an old .22cal match target rifle full stocked with a bunch of sights on the end of the barrel and some weird one on the receiver. I shot it some and traded it off. With a little more age and a lot of reading I realized that was a Martini match rifle.

Blaine, I feel the same way. I have loads for the .44spl that would be close to BB. I also have loads for my single action .45 Colt with a 260 grain hard cast bullet that would be consider to heavy for the gun. They are John Taffin loads.

Ron, I believe the Mozambique drill was used in the African country Mozambique state. The white settlers were being killed by the natives. They found out that it took two shots to the chest and one to the head to stop the doped up natives.
I reckon that I will be corrected on this.

Yes you did get a beautiful classic. As far as peep sights go I would get the Williams Fool Proof if you will be using different loads. If you will be using the same load a Williams 5D is less than half the price of the Fool Proof, I have the 5D on several rifles and really like that sight.

Sixgun, thanks for showing your book. I have a Colt SAA in .45 Colt that I bought in 1959.t was still in the box with 12 empty cases. I got for 100.00 dollars.
