Re: Gas Check Alternatives
I think your assumption that the glue to be used is a white glue is correct. The glue is meant to keep the disc stuck on the base to protect it from flame cutting but meant to fall off once the bullet leaves the bore… The advantage to the disc dropping off is that it cannot contribute to degradation...

As you say, Cool Beans! I didn't know they made new weaver style 330s Glad it worked out for you...
I've got a few 330s I've mounted on various rifles.. They have a lot of eye relief close to 4-5 " IIRC
The new ones close to that?

I've loaded reduced smokeless loads w/ fillers for years in several cartridge rifles & had lots of fun but I've seen hammers go to full cock & half cock in a muzzle loader from too much back pressure through the nipple w/BP... Dunno what would happen with a duplex charge of BP & smokeles...

But if you have a rough bore as I do in my 1873 Win SRC there's not enough chamber diameter there to fit a proper diameter bullet. GCs allow it to shoot good without leading or very little. We talk about leading being caused by gas blow by - flame cutting... How is it that a TP wad when examined aft...

The case will also accept large rifle primers which have a slightly higher profile... It would be simple to prime a case and & fire it before the rifle gets disassembled.

Looks very promising...The 21gr group looks like the best load... I've had the same type group and it was sighting error... Front sight might be too wide for the bull... Experiment with different size bulls ... An old Elmer Keith trick...
