Re: Twist Rate of barrel for very old Winchester 94 32 Speci
I'm not aware of a change in twist for 32WS. It has always had a much slower twist than 30wcf so as to be loaded with black powder and cast bullets. There was some resistance initially to 30wcf because components weren't readily available (jacketed bullets, smokeless powder) to reload shells. The i...

Re: Full Moon Clip Question
I'm not sure I completely agree with the intent part, but intent to never re-use or not, the original half moons were much easier to load and unload than the full moons. The edge of the clip flexes with the half moons, the full moons have more support and are harder to flex the clips to load/unload...

Re: Full Moon Clip Question
You can load acp rounds in the 625 and 325 with no clips, you just have to rely on gravity for extraction or use a poker to eject them Maybe - maybe not. My 625 is about 50/50 fail to fire without the clips. I measured the fired and unfired brass and a lot of it was shorter than the "trim to&q...

It is fun to pick apart lists like this. rifle with .45 acp? Are there such things? And to have .45-70, .45-90, .45-110 and NOT have .45-100 is pretty odd. Not to mention all the other straight .38s and .40s. And I think there are some modern straightwalls from Ruger and the like that have been bui...

Re: Ohio to announce PCR for Deer
Ohio is set to announce that Pistol Cartridge Rifles will be legal for deer season. Frankly, this is about 20 years too late for me. Even though I'm a Buckeye, I've already sunk a wad into 200 acres of good hunting land in KY, Zone 1. However, I'm probably going to get an invite for hunting Ohio, a...

Wrong answer. No ding ding. I have enough for myself also. I see and worry about the bigger picture. The continued health of our ...

I wonder if we could reload them? anyone know? what does manufacturing equipment for 22 rimfire look like? maybe they can be printed? It is technically possible, but very difficult. Re: Would you use a Rossi 92 with Buffalo Bore +P+ .44?
BB has a .44 mag load that they call a +P+. They don't list the Rossi as supporting it's use. Is the .44 mag Rossi not as strong as the .454 Casull version? My opinion is if it is not listed in BB's website - don't do it. You could always send them an E-mail & ask; perhaps they just haven't tes...

Marshall Stanton says you can't work up good cast bullet loads with copper fouling in the barrel and he consistently says the first step is to strip all the copper out of the barrel.. might be worth a try. Grizz +1 on this. Some guns don't seem to care about copper fouling, but most of mine did. Us...

For a Remington Nylon collector they are the "Holy Grail". My Brother bought one many Years ago at a local gun show in his area. He was showing it off to his Family members. His SIL remarked that his Father had one when he was a kid. The Father sold the piece when he was Drafted for Vietn...

Thanks for the response guys. I have this habit of buying what are considered "junk" or "inaccurate" rifles and trying to disprove the notion. Two weeks prior I was at the same range sighting in a Ted Williams 30/06. I topped it with a Japan made Tasco and shot old gray box (30 ...

From what I can remember, my Puma has a 1-30" twist. We have black bears up in the hills around here, and if I were to go where they are/have been seen lately, I'd take some heavy loads of WC820 under a Ranch Dog 265 gr. RNFP. But when I'm up in the hills, I usually make a bunch of noise and u...
